Bygone Days

I lay on the bed, wide-eyed
Staring through the gleaming window
I look towards the desolate street
It seems as if it's calling someone

Down the memory lane, I recall all the moments.
How we met in this street for the first time
And talked throughout the night
In the dim yellow light
How we rode on our bicycles on Sunday afternoons and then had a hot chocolate brownie
How we met in the library and how we put our hands on the same book
And I let you take it.
How we met at the grand party and danced in the royal ballroom
Now, that everything has vanished and you have left
My town calls me every night to sing me these stories to sleep
We have it or not, my town has witnessed it all.💫
