Quarantine Chronicles: I Hope I Make It To Monday

Quarantine Chronicles: I Hope I Make It To Monday

Every hour is happy hour, little sparkles,
Flocking jokes and mocks on quarantine
Multiple trips to the kitchen and stereo system corner, music and all the same movies
Always on the move like we have something to prove

TUESDAY
It’s Tuesday, Monday ended too fast, back to the unfinished Monday business
Tuesday is Monday part 2,
I have been hungry three times for the past one hour
What happened to Monday? I’m about to find out, it is on my screen

WEDNESDAY
The sink is full, blinks are slowed down, I think I’m still on Monday
Suddenly outside sounds more appealing, I miss the mess of places
The chaos of traffic, long queues of terrific Tuesday, I miss the bliss of the outside
I’ve called everyone I know; hello from this side of the inside

THURSDAY
I have had a full boardroom meeting with myself whilst;
Devoid of downtown detours, sanity levels in question
Distancing from terrains, the glory of rains and terror of traffic
All missed in equal measures, insanity, and sanity
The difference is the same but who is to blame?
My little brother asks, I don’t know what to say.
He’s four years

FRIDAY
Drained, refraining from touch,
Human contact is the poison, the silent terrorists
That was the message, we heeded
Pave the way to strangers, waves at loved ones
The instructions

SATURDAY
But deprived of everything, all a human wantS to do is touch,
Something, anything
To feel touched, somehow
But we are to be brave to save life a day, generation of a lifetime

Sit, stand, walk, talk and repeat
Lie and sigh
Crouch, just a touch
Please, I beg to stop thinking about a touch
We are officially on a highway to crazy-land

SUNDAY AND FOREVER
Slaves of confinement, we are going crazy, we laze around
As daylight blows by in a blur of haze
Lost touch with time and days

Losing words to tell the tales
Hello from this side of the inside

Sounds like a simulation
A new day looking like the previous

Missed the blow of the kiss
Hips to tease, words of ease
Just a f****** touch

I hope I make it to Monday; the real Monday
